Johnny Rockets Canada, with the support of local Vancouver business, has launched an initiative to provide 200 fresh, bagged lunches daily for 28 days to the staff and healthcare workers at the Vancouver General Hospital (VGH). Our Oak Street and West Broadway location has had the privilege of serving the fine people of VGH since our opening in the Fall of 2018. With today’s trying times, it’s our turn to give back to them with “Operation Rocket.” This program will run every day, for 28 days, starting on Monday, April 13th though to Sunday, May 10th.
Notes
Out of respect to those who are suffering during this difficult time, we are not looking for, nor are we doing this for publicity or acknowledgement. It’s our way of giving back to the local community. However, notes and well-wishes thanking the staff and healthcare workers of VGH will be included with each lunch. If you wish to include a note then, simply, fill out the form below and we’ll make sure it gets delivered.
We thank you in advance for recognizing the staff and healthcare workers of VGH!

I would like to take a moment to say thank you for organizing today’s receipt of our complimentary burgers from Johnny Rockets. It was a very generous gift on their part, and what made it extra special were the unique special messages from local school children that were stapled to each note. The note attached to mine read “You rock! Thanks. Stay healthy. We appreciate you!” from Carr. Each bag had a different message and artwork coloured by a different child; I watched as each of my colleagues smiled at his or her (original) signed note and like me, will probably add theirs to their work-related treasure collections.
Please forward this feed-back to both Johnny Rockets, and the local children. Many thanks! And to you, again for your part in organizing this.
Respectfully,
Dawn M. RN

Please forward this to Johnny Rockets! They were so generous with their gift of food – our staff have been talking about the delicious food for the past 3 days! It really made our Easter weekend.
Regards,
Anna L., RN, BSN, MSN
I am a nurse working in the Leukemia/Bone Marrow Transplant Program. What a treat when lunch arrived from Johnny Rockets yesterday, along with a personal note or picture… a kind, personal touch. It was very much appreciated by the nurses, doctors, clerks, cleaners, and stock personnel. Thank you for being so thoughtful. The burgers were delicious of course! Hope you are doing well, and have reason to smile each day.
Kind regards,
Sally RN, BN
Community Messages of Thanks
Bravo to our cities’ medical professionals, care givers, and hospital staff. I hope you feel the whole city thanking, encouraging, and applauding each and every one of you. I’ve always felt so well cared for in Vancouver, including through ER visits and two surgeries in the past few years. Now, during the Covid 19 outbreak, we have a chance to say once again a thank you for your professionalism and dedication. Stay safe! – Karen
I understand you may be the recipient of a free meal 🙂 I hope it is gloriously delicious. I know that a free meal does not make up for the additional stress and risk of your job right now. The fact that you are still doing your job is incredible. I hope this small token of gratitude shows that there are plenty of us out here that are so incredibly thankful for the work you do. I am thankful! My grandma who is about to turn 96 is thankful! So know that your efforts do not go without notice. When your shift is done, I wish you a lovely return home, some rest and self care. With much respect, admiration and thanks. – Maureen
I can only say what everyone is thinking ‘thank you!’ – Mary Jean
